Fog Tower
A downloadable game for Windows
Hey, thanks for stopping by. Fog Tower is a short horror-action game about climbing a mysterious structure that's been swallowed by fog. The goal is simple: reach the top. The catch is everything in between.
The premise
You don't know what the tower is. Nobody seems to. It just appeared, or maybe it's always been there and people only started noticing recently — accounts vary, and most of the people giving them aren't around anymore to clarify. What's clear is that the fog around it doesn't move the way fog should, and the people who go in mostly don't come back out.
You're going in anyway. Maybe you're looking for someone. Maybe you're looking for answers. Maybe you just couldn't help yourself. The reason matters less than what's waiting on each floor.
How it plays
The core loop is climbing — floor by floor, dealing with whatever's between you and the next set of stairs. Some floors are puzzles. Some are encounters. Some are quiet, empty stretches where nothing happens and that's somehow worse. The fog limits your visibility, so you're never quite sure what's coming until it's close.
It's not a long game. You can finish a run in a sitting if you push through. But the higher you climb, the weirder it gets, and a few floors near the top are designed to make you genuinely uncomfortable.
The atmosphere
The fog isn't just a visual gimmick — it's the whole identity of the game. You can never see far. Every corner could be empty or could be the worst thing you've encountered so far. The sound design picks up the slack on what the visuals leave hidden — footsteps, distant noises, things moving when nothing should be moving. Wear headphones. A lot of the dread depends on it.
The tower itself shifts in tone as you go up. The lower floors feel almost normal, just abandoned. The middle stretch starts losing its grip on logic. The upper floors are something else entirely.
What you'll do
- Climb floor by floor, looking for the way up
- Avoid or outrun whatever the tower has on each level
- Solve light environmental puzzles to unlock paths forward
- Manage the fog — you can see less than you'd like, always
- Find what's at the top, if anything is
Who this is for
If you like short, atmospheric horror games where the dread comes from what you can't see — and not from constant jumpscares — this is built for that. It's closer in feel to games like Anatomy, Iron Lung, or the quieter end of indie horror than to action-heavy survival games. If you want non-stop combat, this isn't your speed.
Heads up
This is a small project. There are bugs I haven't caught yet, and some sections are more polished than others. Performance varies depending on your hardware — the fog effects can be heavy on older machines. If something feels broken or you've got feedback, leave a comment. That's how this gets better.
Some content may be unsettling. Nothing graphic for shock value, but the tone is dark and a few moments are meant to disturb. If horror games aren't your thing, this won't change your mind.
Thanks for playing. See you at the top — maybe.
